Youthy’s Fantastic Food

Project Insights

Having worked with young people from Pershore in 2024 on the Wild Imagination animation for National Trust Croome, artist Sarah Taylor Silverwood is collaborating with Pershore Riverside Centre in 2025 on a new commission to co-create a cookbook and dinner service for use by their local community.

Youthy’s Fantastic Food is inspired by how the young people cook and share food at their youth group sessions. Sarah will be running regular workshops to cook, draw, design and make together. The young people will learn how to design, edit and illustrate the recipe book, using their own illustrations to design a ceramic dinner service guided by Sarah.

Wild Imagination is on display at National Trust Croome until March 2026.

Since 2020, Meadow Arts has collaborated with the Pershore community on a diverse range of creative activities. Spanning various public venues within and around the town and Avon Meadows floodplain and community wetland, our work has been both dynamic and multifaceted.

To effectively showcase the breadth of these activities on our website, we partnered with the Year 1 BA Illustration students from Hereford College of Arts to help us visually locate the geographical context of Pershore.

The students came up with some incredible designs in response to the live brief we provided. The illustrations showcase our activities at Pershore High School, Avon Meadows, Pershore Riverside Centre, Pershore Abbey, and Pershore Library. Unsurprisingly the River Avon was also a key feature in many of the designs.

Head to the news section to learn more about the Pershore Mapping Project and to see the beautiful maps that were designed.
