Youthy’s Fantastic Food cookbook launch

2 min read

Artist Sarah Taylor Silverwood collaborated with young people from Pershore Riverside Centre on an exciting new commission: Youthy’s Fantastic Food cookbook and a set of accompanying dinner plates.

Having previously worked with the group in 2024 on the Wild Imagination animation for National Trust Croome, Sarah returned to co-create a cookbook and dinner service designed for use by their local community.

Over the past year, Sarah and the young people have developed the project together, bringing their ideas and designs into the final publication, which also features some delicious recipes.

The project has been a wonderful opportunity to explore the potential of co-design and collaboration at every stage. We hope its legacy will continue through the cookbook, the plates plates and in the group’s ongoing creative journey, celebrating the connections between food and art.

The launch of Youthy’s Fantastic Food cookbook and the dinner plates took place on Saturday 7 November at The Riverside Centre Youth Group. The event had a lovely turnout, with an afternoon of celebration recognising the young people’s creativity and hard work throughout the project.

Youthy’s Fantastic Food cookbook is inspired by the ways young people cook and share food during their youth group sessions. The plates from the project will be on display at Croome in the new year, sharing the young people’s creativity with a wider audience.
