Looking Back at 2025 with Meadow Arts

What a year it has been, highlighted by the opening of Leah Gordon’s Monument to the Vanquished Peasant at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in partnership with Coventry Biennial. The exhibition explored land, enclosure and resistance. We also hosted an insightful talk with Leah Gordon, Stephen Ellcock and Maxine Peake.

Radical Care artist talk series, presented with Hereford College of Arts, explored the question of care in the context of contemporary art and how artists are transforming their creative practices to foster well-being and connectedness.

The BorderLands project with artist in residence Maya Rose Edwards, engaged communities along the Welsh and English border through Creative Mapping workshops, exploring borders, belonging and identity ahead of the BorderLands exhibition at Hay Castle in 2026.

As part of Our Place Golden Valley, Chris Poolman, Grace Emily Manning and Liv Mabey co-created community projects, which will continue in Year 3. Cordelia Cembrowicz’s Molecules Series came to life across the Golden Valley. The Creative Health in Herefordshire Network Sharing Series brought artists working and living in Herefordshire together for informal sharing, networking, and exchanging ideas in creative health and wellbeing practices.

Sarah Taylor Silverwood continued co-creating with young people from Pershore Riverside Youth Centre, culminating in the launch of Youthy’s Fantastic Food cookbook and a set of accompanying dinner plates, which will be exhibited at National Trust Croome in 2026.
Thank you to our artists, partners, trustees, audience members and everyone who joined us and got involved, and made 2025 so memorable. We’re looking forward to what 2026 will bring!
