Join us for a lunchtime sharing event for arts practitioners in Herefordshire as part of the Creative Health in Herefordshire Arts Practitioner Network Sharing Series.
Creative Health in Herefordshire Arts Practitioner Network Sharing Series is an informal sharing and networking event for artists and creative practitioners living and working in Herefordshire, with an interest in creative health and wellbeing practice. As part of Our Place South Wye, Rural Media has invited punk poet 1990s Chris to lead this session.
1990s Chris – writer, filmmaker, facilitator and queer working class poet – discusses his work in community and communication. Since 2015, Chris has facilitated workshops and designed arts curricula across the UK, US and Canada. With a focus on putting people at ease and creating space for them to be imperfect, Chris will host an interactive conversation with Rebecca Farkas and attendees about intended outcomes to creative workshops. This session will draw specifically on the experience of Rural Media’s Our Place South Wye, an arts and health project managed by Rebecca.
This workshop is for artists and creative practitioners who’d like to learn something new about ways to put people at ease when doing creative work in the community. Managing people in different settings can be challenging sometimes and we don’t always know what will happen. Together, we’ll discuss ways of approaching sessions without feeling the need to do everything ‘perfectly’ and how this can enhance the experience for your participants, as well as you as a creative practitioner.
This event is part of Our Place South Wye, which is a Rural Media project. It is part of the Our Place Herefordshire programme funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with match funding from Herefordshire Council and Hereford City Council.
