In an exciting new partnership, Meadow Arts and Hereford College of Arts have launched Radical Care – a free series of public talks featuring high-profile artists. The series will explore how art is helping to combat rising levels of anxiety and improve well-being.

Running from February to June 2025, the five talks will take place at the Hereford College of Arts degree campus on College Road. Each event will feature groundbreaking artists who use creativity to transform lives – from reimagining healthcare spaces to fostering personal connections through contemporary art.

The first event, on 20 February, features celebrated visual artist Hetain Patel. His recent work has brought hundreds of people together in unexpected spaces – such as a former Wetherspoons pub – where he exhibited alongside cabinets of K-pop memorabilia and painted pebbles. Patel’s practice revolves around finding common ground and shared cultural references in an increasingly fragmented world.

Held on Thursday evenings at 6pm, each talk will invite audience questions and discussion. A paid bar will be open after the event. 

The series aims to spark conversation about the power of art to connect us – to each other, to nature, and to ourselves. It offers a valuable opportunity for regional artists, individuals, and organisations to hear first-hand from renowned practitioners on how they can build in ‘care’ as a cornerstone of their projects – and start to shape the world around them.

Tickets are free, but booking via Eventbrite is recommended as spaces are limited.
