Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday 28 March for Rambling the Line, an artist-led walk up Hergest Ridge with Celia Johnson as part of our BorderLands programme.

Despite the unpredictable weather, the group moved steadily through the landscape, embracing the conditions as part of the experience. Pauses along the route became moments for close looking and making, with participants drawing from observation and taking rubbings from tree bark to capture texture, form and surface. These small acts of attention created a shared rhythm to the walk, shaped as much by process as by place.

Throughout the day, conversations unfolded naturally in response to the landscape, touching on ideas of land, borders, movement and creative practice. The walk offered space to think collectively, reflecting on how place is experienced through both physical presence and artistic interpretation.
