In June, practitioners Emma Beynon and Emily Hedges led an inspiring session at The Weir Garden with a group from Herefordshire Mind to explore the gardens and their connection with nature.

The day began with a poetry walk through the garden, guided by Emma. In the afternoon, Emily led a ceramics workshop where participants consolidated their writing work, pressing lines from their poems into clay labels they made in a temporary workshop set up in the greenhouse. 

The clay labels that participants made have now been fired and they are very beautiful. Before they were parcelled up, Emily wanted to see how they looked back where they were made – in the walled garden and glass house at The Weir Garden. 

Meadow Arts has been working with National Trust Herefordshire during the summer of 2024 to deliver a programme of artistic activities at The Weir Garden, exploring how visitors can creatively engage with the landscape. The People, Proposition, Landscape project will culminate in a final public showcase at The Weir Garden, 7 – 22 September.
