During the Easter holidays, young members of the Pershore Riverside Centre travelled to Worcester to see the wonderful bronze sculptures they had made on display as part of our Watermark exhibition. They met up with Emma Bowen, our Education & Engagement Manager and Anne de Charmant, our Artistic Director who gave them a special guided tour across the exhibition venues. 

The group particularly enjoyed watching Force Majeure by Gabriella Hirst and seeing the large sculptures, Flood and Potemkin, by Daniel Pryde Jarman. The highlight, of course, was seeing their own artwork on display in prominent city locations, alongside national and international artists. The charming bronze sculptures they created were made with the help of artist Juneau Projects in 2022, thanks to funding support from Art Fund and Wychavon District Council. After visiting their bronze Small Creatures on display at the Hive, Worcester, and exploring the outdoor works by Hilary Jack and Daniel Pryde Jarman and remaining venues across Worcester, Anne de Charmant, Artistic Director of Meadow Arts, talked to the young visitors about the artists ideas, and her vision for the exhibition. 

There was Lots of discussion around their experiences of flooding in Pershore, and about their wider concerns about the issues raised in the exhibition, such as climate change. 

The group will be working with the Meadow Arts team in the coming weeks to plan what year 2 of this project will entail.
