Lonely Tree – Poetry Postcards & Tree Art

This drop-in family friendly workshop took inspiration from a single tree, and responded to Simon Roberts’ use of ‘Waldeinsamkeit’ – a word and philosophy from the German language describing the enlightened, sublime feeling that can come from being alone in nature.
Our tree of inspiration stands alone, yet is connected to everything. In this workshop participants wrote their own Lonely Tree poem to take home on one of our illustrated postcards. Visitors could also contribute to a collaborative textiles piece, adding words and embellishments to a piece of shared art.
