Untitled (book)
This artwork featured in Never Judge a Book (2016).
In the late 1970s Craig-Martin began to make line drawings of ordinary objects, creating over the years an ever-expanding vocabulary of images, which form the foundation of his work to this day. Here, the open book floats on a candy pink background, deceptively simple, yet succinctly embodying the universal understanding of book-ness. The blank pages seem to invite the viewer to project their own narrative lines.
