The Applause; You Awake in a Forest; Elk Cloner

This artwork featured in Tell it to the Trees (2008).

These three ‘shields’ have been produced using a digital program to recreate hand-carved style. Mixing traditional crafts and customs with new technologies, from digitally generated wood carvings to woodland-themed computer games, they synthesise the old and the new, city and countryside, into their own expression of folk art for the modern age.
