About
Andrew Howe is an interdisciplinary artist and project manager, using art to help shift relations with the more-than human realm and enabling people to take an active part in their community to build resilience. Through walking and mapping he explores how people interact with places, revealing hidden narratives and drawing on multisensory experience and multi-layered historical and scientific observations. He produces work in painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, books, and digital media, often working closely with the landscape by using foraged or found materials. He collaborates with other artists, practitioners in other disciplines and local communities for co-creating and sharing work. Andrew’s artist practice is informed by over 35 years’ experience in international, multi-disciplinary environmental consulting.
He co-leads the Mosses and Marshes project connecting wetlands in the UK and Australia and bringing together artists, scientists, land managers and local communities to reimagine the future of fragile environments.
