Ryan Hughes is an Artist-Curator and is the founder and Artistic Director of Coventry Biennial – a social, political and critical platform for contemporary art working across Coventry and Warwickshire. The Biennial has presented exhibitions, events and activities in museums, galleries and more ‘unusual’ locations including medieval and modernist buildings, vacant industrial spaces and de-commissioned NHS facilities. The third Coventry Biennial will take place from October 2021 until January 2022 as a part of UK City of Culture. Ryan is also a Trustee of Coventry Artspace and is a member of the New Art West Midlands Advisory Group.
