Alice Planel-Frederiks is a contemporary art expert with over 15 years experience as a curator, academic and social innovator. She has a special interest in socially engaged art, in decolonial practices, arts education and rural contexts.

Alice was a Lecturer then Programme Lead at Bristol School of Art (2016-2022) where she specialised in widening participation to Art & Design education. Before that she taught part-time at Kingston University and Sotheby’s Institute (2010-2016). She has worked in galleries and institutions (including Spacex Gallery, L13 and the Louvre) and has curated exhibitions in the UK, Germany and Ireland. As an academic she has published internationally (Yale, l’Harmattan, Steinberg). Alice also co-founded award-winning regenerative agriculture organisation Stroud Micro Dairy (2016) and the climate justice organisation The Dinner Exchange (2009). She received a PhD from Kingston University (2013) an MA from the School of Advanced Studies (2009). Alice is also mum to two partially D/deaf bilingual boys.
