My memorable arty moment
Seeing Chilean artist Alfredo Jaar’s The Sound of Silence at the Brighton Photo Biennial in 2006. It is an extraordinarily powerful work that raises questions about photography, ethics and representative. The photograph that is revealed at the end is so traumatic and heartbreaking. I think of this work often and the issues it still raises around photojournalism.
