Hammer (Blue)
This artwork featured in Building Site (2014).
This outline of a hammer is from a series of ‘sculptures of drawings’ of everyday objects. The sculpture looms out of the ground like Hardwick Hall itself, its scale playing with perspective and offering new ways of seeing the building. Although two-dimensional, its association with the construction of Hardwick lends it a sense of solidarity.
